О, Фортуна!
Месяц лунный
Так меняешься:
Ты то растешь,
То пропадешь,
О, жизнь несчастная!
Сперва казнишь,
Потом простишь,
Но смерть возьмет свое…
И в бедности,
И во власти -
Все в жизни тает льдом…
Чудовищно:
Всемощная
Судьба колесо крутит,
Злорадное,
Безбедное,
Что все за что-то губит!
Сокрытая,
Тьмой скрытая
Меня ты также мучишь!
Стихами здесь
С тобою весь
Меня ты подло сгубишь.
Против меня!
Здоровия
И счастья не жалеешь!
Как на дыбе,
В твоем огне
Я раб, меня ты стлеешь!
Так в этот час,
Прямо сейчас,
Услышим эти строки!
Пусть плачут все,
Да! Пусть судьбе
Дано терзать людские роки!

2. Fortune plango vulnera

Один я плачу от Фортуны
Слез полными глазами:
Дары сначала были мне даны,
А потом исчезли сами…
Это Правда, говорят,
Что она прекрасна,
Но придет ее черед -
Казнит косой опасной!
На троне Фортуны сиживал и я,
Устремлен был мой взор дальше,
Цвела цветами корона моя
Мир борьбы и вечной фальши!
Пусть я был тогда счастлив,
Пусть я был богатым,
Судьбу, видно, обозлив,
Вниз стремлюсь бесславно…
Судьбы Колесо повернулось -
Я вниз устремился,
Другому стать королем далось -
Высоко взгромоздился…
И теперь сидит он там,
Пусть же убоится:
И его придет черед,
ведь
Ось – Гекубы спица!
