Казалось нам, что этот путь нас на погибель тянет (в ночи, во сне),
И что до цели дотянуть нам силы не достанет, (тебе и мне).
И в час когда ночной зенит для цели распахнется (и вспыхнет свет на всей земле),
Нежданный ворон прокричит, и наша жизнь прервется (как птичий след, во мгле, во мгле).

У наш мучительный вопрос забудется навечно (наверняка).
И только мерный стук колес продлится бесконечно, (через века),
Он разлетится во всю прыть, на новый берег ляжет (но не умрет, не отзвучит),
Под новым небом станет жить, и все о нас расскажет (и не соврет, и не смолчит).

О нашей тягостной возне титанов и пигмеев (во мгле, во мгле),
О вечной склоке и резне титанов и плебеев (на всей Земле),
О нашем счете на рубли всех радостей на свете (он не смолчит, он прокричит),
О нашей медленной любви, и нашей быстрой смерти...
