Scott McKenzie
San-Francisco, 1967г.

1

San Francisco

If you`re going to San Francisco,
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
If you`re going to San Francisco,
You`re gonna meet some gentle people there.

All those who come to San Francisco,
Summertime will be a love-in there.
In the streets of San Francisco,
Gentle people with flowers in their hair.

All across the nation, such a strange vibration,
People in motion,
There`s a whole generation, with a new explanation,
People in motion, people in motion.

All those who come to San Francisco,
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
If you come to San Francisco,
Summertime will be a love-in there.

A. Sound Factory».

"San Francisco".
1
If you're going to San Francisco
Vplate hair a couple of colors.
If you're going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet some gentle people there.
2
All those who come to San Francisco
There summertime will be a love.
On the streets of San Francisco,
Gentle people with flowers in their hair.
3
All across the nation, such a strange vibration,
People in motion,
There's a whole generation with a new explanation,
People in motion, people in motion.
4
If you're going to San Francisco
Whether you wore flowers in your hair?
On the streets of San Francisco,
There summertime will be a love.

In 1967 John Phillips, wanting to help his friend, wrote the song "San Francisco", which later became the anthem of the hippie movement. The song was recorded in one night in the spring of 1967 at the Studio "L. A. Sound Factory". During each recital MacKenzie said that the song is dedicated to veterans of the Vietnam war. (San Francisco was not only the unofficial capital of the hippies; it also attracts returning from Vietnam American soldiers.)
