DEFILER was founded somewhen at the end of the nineties as an Austrian highschool band. However, in 2002 only Mike (drums) and Mark (vocals, bass) were the remains of the group. By the end of 2002 the guitarist Georg joined DEFILER.
Coming along with the line-up change also the band´s style was distinctly modified: computer generated samples were no more a taboo, songwriting now focused on great hooklines and rhythm-parts, replacing the foregrounded progressive (?) elements in earlier days. Some club gigs followed, and DEFILER really went to work out the details of how the band was to be and sound like.
